It’s difficult to convey the genius of Richard Power’s writing. The Overstory was my first introduction to his work, and it blew my mind. The richness of his characters and the interconnected nature of their storylines gave the novel a structure that mirrored the trees and forests it discusses. Watching the whole structure reveal itself as the story unfolded was awe-inspiring.
